NINE INCH NAILS

welcome to my shrine/fanpage of NIN...this will be a wip, hope you enjoy.

Trent Reznor was born May 17, 1965. He wen out to be a singer, songwriter, and a
musician. He became the lead singer and founder of the well known Nine Inch Nails.
But did you know he had quite a career before that? Trent began his career in 1982 with new
wave bands and synthpop bands. He went in and out of quite a lot of them.

OPTION 30

Option 30 was founded in 1982 by Tim Smith on guitar and vocals, Jim Nordstrom
on bass and saxophone, Todd Nero on drums, and a teenage Trent Reznor on keyboards and vocals.
Following Reznors Departure from the band in 1984, Option 30 continued as a trio and later a duo
when Nero left the group in the late 1980s. This was Trent's first band later followed by The Urge.

THE URGE

The Urge was a new wave cover band from Youngstown, Ohio.
It included Micheal Baranski, Matt Carmicheal, Steve Jaworski, and Trent Reznor on keyboards and guitar.
This was Trent's first band after moving to Cleveland. This was his band after leaving Option 30 and it was
later followed by The Innocent. The Urge was very good at imitating bands like ZZ Top, Van Halen, Styx, and Journey.
They had steady work in Ohio's bars, sometimes playing to hundreds of people.

THE INNOCENT

The Innocent was the band Trent Reznor played with after leaving The Urge. The band was formed in 1983 as Hot Rodney,
with Rodney Psyka on vocals, Alan Greene on guitar, and Gary Lee Jones on keyboards.
Albritton McClain on bass and Kevin Valentine on drums joined the band in February
1985 to record their debut album. Because Jones was a staff producer for Red Label,
he was unable to tour with the band. They auditioned fifteen keyboard players
and selected Trent as the touring keyboardist in March 1985. The band was renamed The Innocent by June 1985.
The band's only album, Livin' In The Street, was released on Red Label Records.
Trent toured with the band during their "Livin' In The Street" mini-tour in August 1985,
but left the band by September, with Jones taking over as touring keyboardist also now.
Trent rejoined The Urge after leaving The Innocent. After leaving The Urge he then went to join Exotic Birds.

EXOTIC BIRDS

Trent Reznor had a very 80s look as seen in the images above, very different from his 90s goth look.

Exotic Birds was a synthpop music group formed in 1983 in Cleveland, Ohio, by
Andy Kubiszewski on guitar and vocals, Tom Freer on drums, and Tim Adams on keyboards.
Trent Reznor's time in the band was followed by him joining Slam Bamboo.

SLAM BAMBOO

Slam Bamboo was a 1980s synthpop band from Cleveland that formed in 1984 following the dissolution
of new wave group Boy Wonder. Their first single, "House on Fire", was released in early 1987.
Trent Reznor played keyboards for the band, first as a guest performer in March 1987 (while still with Exotic Birds)
and then on a permanent basis, replacing Steve Harte on keyboards, after the dissolution of Exotic Birds.
The band appeared on AM Cleveland, a local morning show hosted by Scott Newell, sometime in 1987.
In April 1988, Slam Bamboo released their third single, "White Lies". Reznor left Slam Bamboo in early
1988 to join Lucky Pierre, but also to focus on writing for his new music project, Nine Inch Nails,
Reznor recruited Slam Bamboo dummer Ron Musarra for the live version of NIN in October 1988.
Slam Bamboo broke up in 1989 as a result of Reznor and Musarra's departures.

LUCKY PIERRE

Lucky Pierre was a new wave band formed in the late 70s in Cleveland, Ohio, by Kevin McMahon.
In 1988, a reformed version of the band included Trent Reznor on keyboards.
This was Trent's last band before creating Nine Inch Nails.

NINE INCH NAILS

Trent Reznor founded Nine Inch Nails in 1988, Cleveland, Ohio. With the release of
Pretty Hate Machine in 1989. Trent Reznor had his first performance in 1988, of Sanctified.

Later in 1994, Nine Inch Nails released The Downward Spiral, which will go on to become their
most iconic album of all time. Around this time Trent Reznor became addicted to drugs which becomes apparent.
1994, Nine Inch Nails had their most, which I think is one of their best performances of all time, Woodstock 94.
