Donnie Darko is one, if not the most, best and relatable movie I have seen ever. Donnie Darko begins
with Donnie, an angsty schizophrenic teenager in high school living in Middlesex, Virginia.
Donnie, one night goes out of his house and sees a hallcination, his "bunny friend" Frank.
Frank tells him he has 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds until the world ends.
Donnie comes back to a plane engine having crashed into his room the next morning, narrowly
escaping death that night. Haunted by visions of Frank, Donnie is drawn into doing
bizzare events. As he questions the nature of time and reality. He uncovers the philosophy
of time travel, ultimately finding the idea that he has to fix the Tangent Universe as he is the
Living Receiver.
Now in my opinion this movie is the best mix of schizophrenia representation, science fiction,
and psychological drama. This movie spoke me when at the time I was developing schizophrenia myself,
and I asked myself "why does this movie make so much sense to me? why does it speak out to me?". I would
reccomend to movie to anyone that is into psychological movies and philosophy. I rate this movie 10/10!
